35th Women Of The Year Awards Was A Success

Posted 6 years ago •

The prestigious Women of the Year Luncheon and Awards were back for the 35th year recently, celebrating exceptional women in business.

Over 600 women attended the event at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole earlier this month where inspirational women were praised for their fantastic entrepreneurship, endeavour and determination.

Pertemps are sponsors of the event and I was on the judging panel this year. The number of nominees we received was astounding and they were all very strong applicants across a whole range of industries. It was a shame there could only be one winner as they were all amazing entries.

Our Women of Achievement Award was dedicated to the Women of the Emergency Services and our Business Women of the Year was Fleur Sexton, joint managing director of PET-Xi Training. Fleur has built one of the UK’s most successful training operations and the judging panel praised her drive and passion at the event.

After starting the PET-Xi Training in 1995 from a spare bedroom in Coventry, the business has grown threefold and is now UK-wide, delivering learning programmes to schools and businesses. Fleur and the team help more than 100,000 children from Northumberland to Cornwall reach their academic potential and inspire them to learn.

It was brilliant to see so many business women at the awards, supporting one another, sharing stories and celebrating each other’s successes.

The awards event was a fantastic day and, in my opinion, the best yet. Our clients and suppliers who attended had a great time and I look forward to celebrating inspirational women across the country again next year!
