Pertemps Named As A Best Employer For Race

Posted 6 years ago •

I’m delighted to announce that Pertemps has been identified as one of the UK’s best employers for Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) people by Business in the Community, a business-led charity committed to empowering employees.

The first ever Best Employers for Race list features organisations from up and down the UK and focuses on the businesses who showcase best practice on race equality in the workplace. The listing is unranked and includes 65 public and private sector companies who collectively represent the best employers for BAME people in the UK.

Creating this list was one of the recommendations made in the McGregor-Smith Review of race in the workplace earlier this year.

To make the list, we had to evidence how Pertemps creates an inclusive workplace and how we act in at least one of three areas – leadership, progression and recruitment, as well as demonstrating the impact of these policies on BAME employees.

At Pertemps we pride ourselves on our inclusive culture, something which I am passionate about and believe is vital to the success of any business. The leaders at Pertemps facilitate and encourage the development and progression of diverse talent throughout the business and help clients to address diversity issues within their own workforces too.

I was pleased to hear Sandra Kerr OBE, Race Equality Director at Business in the Community, congratulated Pertemps on being named in the first ever Best Employers for Race listing. She also commented on our strategic approach to tackling racial inequalities and how impressive our commitment on this issue is.

She said: “I hope more employers will follow their example of best practice and take part in the 2018 listing. If employers truly want their workplaces to reflect the clients, communities and customers they serve, the time to act is now.”

I am extremely proud that Pertemps has been named as a best employer for race. It reflects our commitment to tackling inequality and prejudice in the workplace and is proof we are doing a brilliant job at doing so.
