The 2018 Women of the Year Awards are back! Here’s what happened when I recently attended the exciting launch of this year’s 36th event…
In case you weren’t aware, the Women of the Year Awards is an annual bash that recognises and promotes successful businesswomen in all industries and sectors.
Inspirational women from across the UK attend, whether they are nominees or have nominated someone else, to honour exceptional women both in the world of business and for personal achievements.
The launch event was brilliant; hosted by Baroness Helen Newlove at the House of Lords, the surroundings were truly inspirational and so were the people who attended.
Former winner of the award, Jenny Cambell, and Helen Newlove were announced as the new directors of WOTY – massive congratulations to them both.
As well as the big announcement, this year’s nominated charities were made public – Revitalise and The Prince’s Trust. Revitalise is a national charity which provides short breaks and holidays for disabled people and carers, while The Princes Trust ‘Women Supporting Women’ programme is a community of successful women who care passionately about helping young women achieve their potential.
The sponsors were announced too, which include HSBC, Jaguar, Smooth Radio and of course, Pertemps.
As proud sponsors of an event which highlights the achievements of inspiring women year after year, I was over the moon to be at the launch event representing the business.
The superb evening was rounded off by a sneaky peak into the House of Lords shop where, I have to admit, I purchased a few special treats!
The 2018 Women of the Year Awards will be held on 12th October at the Birmingham Hilton Metropole.
