We are recruiting a Buyer/Purchasing Assistant to work for a Manufacturing company based in Kingswinford.
The Buyer/Purchasing Assistant will be responsible for buying and procurement of core and non-core stock together with supporting all known functions within the Purchasing Department.

The main duties will be:

Supplier negotiation and supplier relationship management to meet price, quality, delivery, and service requirements.
Receive requisitions for raw materials and non-stock items, formulates purchase order which is sent to supplier
Raising and sending purchase orders via the re-order report or other means
Progress chasing of external suppliers and expediting overdue and due purchase order lines
Reconciles delivery notes, invoices and credit notes with purchase order, including entering of all information on purchase system (Sage).
Support the Sales Team in preparing special enquires for the UK and Overseas Suppliers.

The successful candidate will have the following skills:

2-3 Years' experience of buying in a manufacturing environment- ideally a steel or metal background would be beneficial.
Good attention to detail.
Experience in a buying position/material handling/supply chain
Strong negotiation and influencing skills
Ability to manage a busy workload
Familiar with ERP or similar software systems
