Job Description

This is a high-impact role at the heart of Thames Water’s energy operations, driving strategic energy budget management and critical month-end financial reporting. You'll collaborate with senior stakeholders across the business, including finance operations, energy reporting, and key external suppliers, ensuring seamless financial performance.

As a Senior Energy Budget and Billing Lead within the commercial energy team, you'll play a pivotal role in optimising billing validation and energy supply contract operations, supporting and providing the team with your expertise and knowledge to make informed decisions.

What you’ll be doing as a Senior Energy Budget & Billing Lead
  • Preparing and delivering monthly reports on the annual energy budget.
  • Managing and delivering the fiscal energy budget planning for Thames Water Utilities Limited (TWUL).
  • Understanding energy pricing structures, including tariff components, for budgeting and to assist the bill validation team.
  • Managing and updating the energy database to ensure accurate record-keeping and analysis.
  • The role will require analytical skills and a strong grasp of the energy industry and regulatory schemes with database management expertise.
What you should bring to the role
  • Be an organised and practical individual.

  • Previous budget experience is preferred.
  • Experience of compiling energy budgets
  • Ability to manage large databases / data sets
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Have good people skills, strong communicator and people management
