Social Worker, £33.30ph, Duty Team, Shropshire
Pertemps are recruiting for experienced Social Workers to join a dynamic and fast-paced Duty Team in Shropshire. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a supportive environment, undertaking diverse and meaningful responsibilities that make a real difference to children and families.

Role Details:

• Rate: Up to £33.30 per hour
• Duty Schedule: Duty week every other week (office-based); non-duty weeks allow for flexible diary management, including remote working.
• Location: Guildhall, Shrewsbury, SY3 8HQ

 
Main Responsibilities:

• Complete social work assessments, including:
  • Section 47 (S47) investigations
  • Section 7 (S7) and Section 37 (S37) reports
• Participate in duty weeks, managing urgent cases and initial court work as required.
• Attend and contribute to:
  • Initial Child Protection Case Conferences (ICPCC)
  • Core group meetings
  • Initial Child in Need (CIN) meetings
• Conduct direct work with children, capturing their wishes and feelings to inform assessments and planning.
• Maintain accurate and timely records on case management systems.
• Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to safeguard and support children effectively.

 
Requirements:

• Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification
• Registration with Social Work England
• Proven experience in children’s social work, including child protection and court work.
• Strong knowledge of legislation and policies related to child safeguarding.
