Job Description

A social worker in Islington's Children in Need (CIN) service is responsible for:

Assessing needs: Evaluating the needs, capabilities, and circumstances of children and their families
Developing plans: Creating care plans and implementing them
Providing support: Guiding children and families to promote positive outcomes
Maintaining records: Keeping accurate records of case interactions and decisions
Collaborating: Working with other professionals, agencies, and services
Prioritizing safety: Ensuring child protection is always a priority
Identifying risks: Analyzing risks and protective factors
Advocating: Requesting resources and services to meet the client's needs
Communicating: Conveying sensitive information to children, families, professionals, and courts
Educating: Helping children and their families understand their rights and responsibilities
