Pertemps are recruiting for a skilled Automotive Polishing Technician on behalf of our client who is looking to add to their team permanent basis. The role will include rectifying paint of parts using a machine operated polisher.
The Role:
- Use machine-operated and hand polishers to rectify paint defects like inclusions and orange peel.
- Prepare surfaces and measure paint thickness to achieve premium finishes.
- Collaborate with teams to resolve issues and suggest process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and maintain a clean workspace.
- Document processes and adhere to build instructions.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in paint rectification and surface defect correction.
- An understanding of sanding materials and the polishing process
- Automotive trade certification in machine polishing or detailing.
- Knowledge of paint thickness measurements and finishes.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Proactive approach with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.
- Experience in paint processing and corrective actions.
