permanent, full-time opportunity for a skilled
Field Service Engineer to join a growing business and work across a regional patch.
The RoleAs a Field Service Engineer, you’ll be responsible for:
- Conducting planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on fire safety systems in line with BS5839
- Attending emergency call-outs, performing fault-finding, and modifying existing systems
- Providing outstanding customer service on-site and ensuring compliance with industry standards
- Completing service reports and company documents in a timely and accurate manner
- Communicating on-site issues and additional work requirements to the Field Services Manager
- Supporting installation teams on occasion
- Following strict health & safety procedures and always wearing appropriate PPE
What You’ll NeedEssential:- Previous experience as a Fire Alarm Engineer or similar field-based role
- Strong fault-finding and system modification experience
- Excellent communication and time-management skills
- Full UK driving licence
- IT proficiency (for service reports, scheduling, etc.)
- FIA Foundation Certification and sound knowledge of BS5839
Desirable- Additional FIA training or specialist courses
- Experience working in customer-facing field roles
- Familiarity with quality audits and compliance procedures
What’s in it for you?- Salary: £32,000–£37,000 per annum (depending on experience)
- Working hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (40 hours/week)
- Travel time paid after the first 30 minutes
- Standby allowance: £150 per week when on the on-call rota
- Overtime: Paid at time and a half after 40 contracted hours
- Company van (with personal use potential depending on policy)
