Senior Business Development lead - (Technology & Services)
Salary: £75,000 per annum
Location: Hybrid working, with modern Birmingham city centre officesAbout the Role:An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Business Development lead in the Technology & Services sectors. The main purpose of the role is to drive investment into the West Midlands across the Technology & Services.
This role is pivotal in developing and implementing a strategic business development plan to attract high-profile investments and create job opportunities in the region.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead a team of sector experts to ensure effective engagement with intermediaries, stakeholders, and potential investors.
- Take direct ownership of high-value investment projects, particularly those involving multinational technology firms.
- Mentor and empower the team to build and convert investment pipelines amongst SME's.
- Oversee the region's key investment initiatives, aligning with strategic programmes such as office-led investment zones.
- Build strong relationships with local authorities, institutions, universities, and industry bodies to enhance the region's attractiveness to investors.
- Engage in account management of key businesses and support commercial revenue opportunities.
- Ensure the effective use of CRM systems to track and optimise business development strategies.
- Lead marketing and lead generation efforts at national and international levels.
- Provide strategic advice to leadership and ensure collaboration with public and private sector partners to drive economic growth in the region.
Role Requirements:- Degree level education.
- Relevant business development experience in the services and technical sectors.
- Strong negotiating skills.
- Excellent track record of relationship management at senior level.
- Leadership skills and strategic thinking.
- Knowledge of the technology and services sector.
- Proven ability to execute business development strategies.
- Deep understanding of the region's public sector functions and institutions.
