About the Role
We're looking for a proactive and creative Events Executive to join our client's team and help deliver two high-profile business conferences in 2025. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a dynamic team that showcases the West Midlands as a thriving hub for business, innovation, and investment.
You'll play a key role in developing, planning, and delivering events that engage senior stakeholders from local authorities, government departments, private sector partners, and universities.

Key Responsibilities
  •  Support the Event Lead in planning and delivering two major business conferences.
  • Develop creative concepts and ideas to engage diverse audiences.
  • Manage event logistics, including:
  •   Sourcing reliable, cost-effective venues and suppliers
  •   Coordinating speaker management, briefings, and presentations
  •   Guest list management, invitations, and event communications
  •   Content curation, including presentation decks and itineraries
  •   On-the-day delivery, including registration, catering, and stakeholder liaison
  • Build strong relationships across WMGC teams, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure events align with company policies, including procurement, risk management, and reporting.
  • Provide on-site support at events, including outside standard working hours as needed (travel and occasional overnight stays may be required).
  • Gather event data and feedback to support evaluation and continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For
Essential
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in planning and delivering business events or conferences
  • Strong creative thinking and ability to develop engaging event concepts
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills
  • High attention to detail with strong organisational abilities
  • Confident working with senior stakeholders in a multi-partner environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and event delivery processes
  • Self-motivated, able to work under pressure, and manage multiple projects

Desirable
  • Experience delivering events for public sector, business, or real estate audiences
  • Proven track record working with high-profile individuals
  • Confident networker with a creative, solutions-focused mindset
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development in the events industry
