Production Manager Birmingham£40,000 - £45,000 per annumMonday to Friday – 08:00am to 16:30pmWe’re looking for a Production Manager to lead our client’s operations, ensuring everything runs like clockwork while inspiring your team to deliver world-class products. It’s a role that blends leadership, strategy, and problem-solving - all within a fascinating, secure, and highly specialised environment.
What You’ll Be Doing- Running the show: Oversee day-to-day minting operations and keep production schedules on track.
- Keeping things moving: Ensure presses and equipment perform at their best while streamlining processes to reduce downtime.
- Raising the bar: Drive quality and compliance across every product, with zero compromise.
- Leading from the front: Manage, coach, and grow a skilled team of operators, setters, and technical experts.
- Driving improvement: Identify and correct production process issues, using Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles to eliminate waste and prevent future mistakes.
- Accountability and performance: Monitor staff performance, address repetitive errors, and implement clear consequences to maintain high standards.
- Protecting what matters: Safeguard precious metals and products with the highest security and safety standards.
- Thinking big picture: Manage budgets, resources, and KPIs while reporting operational insights via Odoo 17.
- Health & Safety focus: Champion continuous improvement in health and safety across the production environment.
What We’re Looking For- A strong background in production or operations management (5+ years), ideally in manufacturing or other high-precision industries.
- Proven success in correcting process inefficiencies and preventing recurring production issues.
- Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing experience essential.
- Experience in or knowledge of press shop / press machine operations - though we also welcome candidates from other industries with transferable skills.
- A degree (or equivalent experience) in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or Business.
- A track record of driving process improvements, quality standards, and compliance.
- Exceptional leadership and decision-making skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and hold teams accountable.
- Awareness of health and safety practices and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
- Someone with integrity, attention to detail, and the confidence to thrive in a secure, regulated environment.
