Job Description

Our client is a Major Steel Stockholders based in Dudley and is offering an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Fitter looking on a permanent basis to start or further their career..

Annual Salary: £34,000 to £40,000 (DOE)

Weekly Hours: Mon - Fri: 6am - 2pm / 2pm - 10pm rotating shift

Duties of the Maintenance Fitter:
  • Sourcing & repairing Power Presses, Rolling Mills and other machines
  • MIG Welding and Fabrication
  • Read engineering drawings
  • Working with 3 phase electrical control systems to include contactor, inverter circuits, Motors, and Safety circuits.
  • Fault finding and problem solving
  • Planned preventative maintenance to minimise downtime
  • Keep an accurate log of all work carried out

Experience & Skills:
  • At least 5 years experience Mechanical Fitting or similar environment
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Mechanical Maintenance or equivalent
  • 17th or 18th Edition in Electrical
  • Willing to learn new skills
  • Self-initiative
  • Strong communication in a team
