he Role:As a CNC Lathe Programmer, you will be responsible for the full cradle-to-completion machining process. Your main duties will include:
- Creating and editing programs directly at the machine using Fanuc controls
- Setting and operating CNC lathes to produce small-to-medium batch components
- Reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Selecting appropriate tooling, setting up workholding, and performing tool offsets
- Carrying out in-process inspection using micrometers, verniers, gauges, and other measuring equipment
- Maintaining high-quality standards and ensuring components meet tight tolerances
- Troubleshooting machining issues and making necessary adjustments to optimise cycle times and surface finish
- Keeping work areas clean, safe, and compliant with company standards
The Ideal Candidate:- Strong experience programming CNC lathes using Fanuc
- Able to work with a variety of metals including steel, stainless, alloys, and exotics (advantageous)
- Confident with tight tolerances and precision engineering environments
- Self-motivated, reliable, and capable of working independently on an afternoon shift
- Good understanding of machining principles, cutting speeds, and feeds
- Strong problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail
