Job Description

Quality Assurance Technician
My client are currently on the lookout for a QA Laboratory Technician to work within the local Quality team. To deliver an analytic service that fully satisfies the requirements of the World Class Supply Chain Quality Pillar with regards to standardisation, precision and sample plans. 

Build own capability in response to change and the drive for continuous improvement, and through  the use of existing Standard Operating Procedures and creation of new SOPs, train and develop Operational QC (OPSQC) technicians to meet Quality requirements of their role
  • To carry out specified processes in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOP) and global standard methodology, these will cover both physical chemistry test and microbiological. Ensure latest methodologies and standards are applied. Where gaps exist, fully support change schedule for closeout. Work individually and with others to develop and write SOPs in the instance of new or improved / changed processes. Provide training to agreed schedules, Maintain own technical training requirements.   
  • Maintain equipment and work area in optimum condition by performing required maintenance and housekeeping / 5S tasks during the normal course of operations. Develop and maintain a comprehensive planned maintenance schedule to ensure analytical errors, instrument drift and instrument downtime are avoided. Validate off-line and on-line instrumentation, both in core lab and OPSQC labs. Share responsibility for the sustainability of maintenance performance for analytical systems across the department and site to ensure optimum performance and World Class standards.
  • Monitor and record information in an accurate and timely manner, using appropriate systems and techniques (electronic or paper-based, trend, SPC) to improve performance while actively engaging with communication processes - written, verbal and electronic. Ensure data and information is stored in a form readily available and suitable for future use - interrogation, audit. Actively participate in routine meetings and support the daily panel tasting sessions.  
  • Actively engage in problem solving to achieve improvement in department KPIs. Share accountable for the delivery of core analytical services required to support site product quality, cost and customer service targets. Use Gage, collaborative and ring analysis data to monitor, identify and correct analytical variance
  • Work within all local hygiene, health, safety and environmental legislation and best practice, including and not limited to HACCP, COSHH, BRC, FEMAS, Safety the Molson Coors Way and maintain personal legislative training compliance.
Education Requirements:
  • Degree in Sciences (Bsc)
Preferred:
  • Masters in Sciences (Msc) 
Skills and Relevant Work Experience Required:
  • Experience of working in a production Laboratory for both physical chemistry and microbiological
  • Experience of writing and developing SOP and training these out
  • Experience of data interrogation, SPC and root cause analysis
Preferred:
Analytical experience using gas chromatography, High-performance liquid chromatography and polymerase chain reaction
