The role and opportunityAs a Design Engineer, you will be at the forefront of developing and implementing designs for new products, projects, and components with a leading surface blasting company. Collaboration across departments is essential, ensuring that every design meets technical requirements, industry standards, and customer expectations.
- Create detailed design drawings, specifications, and models using SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Perform engineering analysis to assess design options, materials, and manufacturing processes
- Collaborate with sales managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and objectives, including preparing layout drawings for customer approval
- Conduct design reviews and integrate feedback to enhance product performance and reliability
- Support prototyping, testing, and validation to ensure design feasibility and functionality
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies
- Prepare technical documentation, including design reports, manuals, bills of materials (BOMs), method statements, and risk assessments
- Troubleshoot design-related issues and provide technical support throughout the product lifecycle
- Oversee the day-to-day management of projects
- Conduct site surveys as needed and liaise with customers to meet installation requirements
- Contribute to research and development (R&D) activities as required
Our ideal candidate- HNC/bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field
- Proven experience as a Design Engineer or similar role in manufacturing/engineering
- Proficiency in CAD software e.g., SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, materials and manufacturing processes
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and technical skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
