Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced MRP (Material Requirements Planning) Application Engineer to join our team in a dynamic sheet/plate/tube manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of MRP/ERP systems and a comprehensive knowledge of all manufacturing departments, including Sales Quoting, Sales Order, Planning, Purchasing, Production, Quality, Goods In, and Dispatch. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth integration and operation of our MRP system to optimize manufacturing processes, enhance productivity, and support business growth.
Responsibilities:

  • Technical Support: you will effectively meet MRP/ERP technical support needs and communicate solutions to end-users via telephone, e-mail, and the internet.
  • Training: you will provide training courses for our customers: onsite, at our in-house training facility, and over the internet.
  • Applications Engineering: you will get to travel to customer manufacturing facilities to install and implement our MRP software, including deploying shop floor-based products, you will assist the customer in tailoring the system to meet there manufacturing process, create reports and dashboards to extract data from the Microsoft SQL Database backend.
  • Demonstrations: you will provide technical sales support demonstration and competitive analysis (benchmarking).

Essential Experience:
  • Strong SQL Background , used in scripts /reports and retrieving data
  • Programming skills , C sharp or similar languages
  • ERP / MRP experience
  • Degree in Computing Science or similar (if it’s a graduate this usually touches on programming , databases and SQL)
  • Ability to travel to customers or training locations, this can be 25% to 75% of the time based on skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows.
  • 2-5 years’ experience working with a variety of business processes as they relate to manufacturing
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact across a variety of levels within an organisation.
  • Strong listening skills to gain understanding of customer needs.
  • Worked independently and as part of a team.
  • High degree of customer responsiveness.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows.
  • Proficiency in Reading and Writing MS SQL Statements / Interrogation of databases.
  • Data Manipulation and Import / Export between different applications.
  • Programming in a modern Language (C#, Delphi, VBA, JavaScript, Python etc.)
Location: Remote (75% home & 25% visiting customers or sites)
Salary: Dependent on experience
