Transport Clerk ( Ferrybridge)

Pertemps have an exciting opportunity for a transport Clerk to work out of a National Distribution Centre situated in Ferrybridge, Knottingley, West Yorkshire. This is Working on behalf of our client who specialise in the retail logistics industry and are global leaders in this field.

1x Position Monday to Friday Start 14:00pm to 22:00pm (40hrs)

The hourly rate is £11.44ph (Equates to £23,795 per annum) the assignment for the right candidate will lead to a permanent position after 12 weeks.

Skills & Experience

• The ideal candidate will have Transport Administration/Clerk experience.
• Computer literate to include, Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Training will be given on inhouse systems
• Knowledge of Various LGV Vehicles
• Knowledge of Distribution
• Good organisation skills with ability to prioritise work
• Good communication and telephone skills

The duties of the role are:

• Aid transport shift managers in directing & controlling resources in the area to meet defined targets
• To assist Senior Transport controller to manager & challenge drivers at de-brief
• Be fully conversant with all company rules, regs, procedures, processes & policies
• To ensure both timely and low-cost deliveries
• Ensure Customer Service levels are met
• Control Vehicle maintenance
• Ensure legal compliance of the transport operation
• Sound and efficient planning skills in a fast-moving environment.
• Promote equal opportunities culture
• Ability to analyse statistical information
• A methodical approach combined with attention to administrative detail
• Leasing with other sites within the same organisation
• Speaking to the planning Team
• Action & report defects daily.

All workers pay rates are based on PAYE, we do not accept self-employed or Umbrella companies.

On top of the Hourly rate, you will accrue Holiday pay, which on average is based on 2 days a month on a 40hr week, Holidays are NOT paid in advance to make the rate look higher. You are enrolled into an optional Pension scheme that can be opted out & SSP is paid if any sickness after a certain period of working time.
