Job Description
Pertemps are recruiting for a Compliance Administrator to work with a Public Sector organisation based in Edinburgh on a temporary assignment for 4 months initially. This role will require candidates to process security clearance checks for agency and contracted staff to work within Government buildings. The role will involve processing high volumes of applications and it will be your responsibility to ensure that documents are reviewed accurately in line with compliance standards.

Role: Compliance Administrator
Pay: £12.52 per hour
Location: Edinburgh Central Office base EH11
Hours: Mon-Fri 37hrs per week

Responsibilities
- Process and review Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) applications in respect of non-government staff (e.g. consultants, agency workers, contractors and unpaid student placements) who require access to Government buildings, information and assets - within agreed timescales.
- Check for the correct completion of BPSS applications and that all necessary identification and supporting evidence meets required criteria, ensuring that omitted information and documentation is obtained prior to completion.
- Forensically examine original identification documentation, using specialist tools and training (provided on the job) to confirm the genuineness of said documentation.
- Handle personal sensitive data - including criminal record data - with professionalism and discretion.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders in respect of BPSS requirements and on-going applications by e-mail and MS Teams chat.
- Handle physical documentation with care and attention to detail; update a range of databases timeously and with complete and correct information.

Experience Required

- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to closely follow established processes.

- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage workloads to ensure deadlines and objectives are met.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills including being confident in dealing with and influencing a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

- Proven track record of working effectively as part of a team, meeting competing priorities and working flexibly across the team where required

- A valid basic disclosure within the last 3 months will be required.
