Social Worker – Childcare Management

Location: Haverfordwest
Target Start Date: 01/09/2025
Contract Duration: 24 weeks
Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday – Friday)
Pay: £30.13 per hour

About the Role:

Pembrokeshire County Council is looking for a dedicated and experienced Social Worker to join the Childcare Management Team in Haverfordwest. This is a key role supporting the delivery of high-quality services for children and families, ensuring the best outcomes for those in need of support and protection.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee complex childcare cases, including child protection and court work
• Provide professional leadership, guidance, and support to social work colleagues
• Chair multi-agency meetings and contribute to planning and review processes
• Ensure statutory duties are met in accordance with legislation and policy
• Maintain accurate records and produce high-quality reports for internal and legal proceedings

Essential Requirements:

• Registered with Social Care Wales
• Minimum of 5 years referenceable employment/work history
• Significant post-qualification experience in children’s social care
• Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and childcare legislation
• Excellent communication, decision-making, and organisational skills
