JOB TITLE:       Environmental Health Officer

LOCATION:     Exeter

SALARY:            £19.35/Hr

The Role:

• To assist the Environmental Health Manager in providing a regulatory service and carrying out the clients’ statutory duties
• The investigation of complaints relating to commercial premises
• The collection of evidence associated with contraventions for use in court proceedings
• The overseeing of works being conducted as a result of legal action
• The administration of various schemes within commercial premises
• To undertake any duties that may be assigned by the Principal Environmental Health Officer / Environmental Health and Licensing Manager
• To carry out research, monitoring and provision of information and statistics as required

 

 

 

The Candidate will need:

• To hold a BSc/Diploma in Environmental Health and EHRB Certificate of Registration
• To have a solid experience of producing clear and accurate reports - including problem solving solutions
• Good level of experience of dealing with complaints/enquiries from members of the public
  • To hold a full driving licence
  • To be able to work independently or as part of a team
  • To have experience or working within Environmental Health Services or the work covered by the post e.g. noise/pollution/contaminated land
  • To have a good understanding of  PACE, CPIA, RIPA and other Acts association with investigations
  • To be prepared to work out of hours on a monthly basis

 

 

 

SUMMARY:

This role is being offered on a temporary basis

Working hours to fill M-F, between 9am-5pm.
