Senior Estimator - Swindon
An exciting opportunity has emerged to join a prominent construction main contractor as a Senior Estimator on a permanent basis. In this role, you will lead a team of Estimators, ensuring that prime costs align with the bid team's program, methodology, and risk profile. Your responsibilities will include independently managing tender preparation and submission across various procurement methods to secure profitable future projects for the company. Projects value up to 20m, new build and refurbishments within Education, Leisure and Student Accommodation to name a few.

This position will include the following responsibilities:

• To lead and prepare the complete commercial and pricing element of a tender or cost plan, project take – offs
• Prepare whole life costing analysis Identify risks and input into project risk register
• Prices selected trades, lead supply chain enquiry process
• Estimating and the production of project and documentation
• Ensure that all supplier / subcontractor enquiries are sent out in accordance with the Supply Chain Strategy document
• Assist development of other estimating staff
• Present to Senior Management in a clear and concise manner the build-up of the prime cost
• Represent the company at client facing meetings
• Responsible for recording post tender negotiations with the client and actioning any changes to the tender arising therefrom
• Assist the business/project in achieving the objectives/targets set

Requirements:

• Construction related qualification
• Competent use of Microsoft packages e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook
• Extensive experience of analytical building estimating in all sectors but to include industrial, commercial, education and healthcare projects
• Knowledge of all forms of contracts
• Knowledge of Building Regulations and other industry standards
• Previous experience within a similar role with a contractor
• Relevant UK driving licence
