Job Description
An incredible opportunity has arisen for a Design Manager to join a leading main contractor on a permanent basis! This contractor offers a complete package of construction-related services and a portfolio of projects involving New Build Commercial and Refurbishment schemes within Education, Healthcare, Leisure and Defence.
Responsibilities:
- For the management and delivery of design
- Production of design programmes and scope
- To brief the design team on their contractual obligations
- Agree, in conjunction with the site team, the specialist subcontractor procurement strategy
- Manage the submission and timely approval of all reviewable design data
- Assist in the commercial and technical review of specialist subcontract tender returns, establish interfaces and review alternative design
- Prepare technical submissions for alternative designs, system, component, product and or material proposals for client approval
- Attend, chair relevant meetings and record, update and deliver progress report
- HNC or equivalent within construction or design related
- Proven experience in a similar role with a main contractor
- Experience in development and implementation of design management tools and procedures
- Proficiency in MS Project/Excel/InDesign
- Good knowledge of current CDM and Building Regulations
- UK driving licence
