About the Role
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join an established M&E consulting engineering firm in Cardiff. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a fully integrated, in-house consultancy that combines electrical and mechanical expertise under one roof, delivering high-quality, sustainable engineering solutions to public and private sector clients.
As an Electrical Engineer, you’ll be involved in all project stages, from concept design through to handover, ensuring technical excellence, compliance, and seamless coordination with multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems including lighting, power distribution, and emergency back-up systems
• Produce calculations, technical drawings, and Revit/CAD documentation
• Conduct site surveys and liaise with contractors, clients, and internal teams
• Ensure compliance with UK standards (BS 7671, CIBSE, Building Regulations)
• Support project delivery, including schedule tracking, budget management, and quality control
• Collaborate closely with mechanical engineers and multidisciplinary teams
• Stay up-to-date with technical innovations, regulations, and best practices
• Learn from and contribute to a fully in-house team structure

Candidate Profile

• Degree in Electrical, Building Services, or related Engineering discipline
• 2–5 years’ experience in electrical building services design within a consultancy
• Proficient with CAD, Revit, and electrical calculation/design tools
• Strong understanding of UK electrical regulations and building standards
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach
• Proactive problem-solving with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
• Full UK driving licence
