Are you an experienced Structural Engineer interested in working for a leading local practice structural engineering consultant?
We are looking for a structural engineer, either chartered or on the way to being chartered, with building structures experience for an established consultancy in Cardiff. This engineering consultancy typically punches well above it’s weight with the kind of projects it brings in and is recognised as a major player in the local market. You will have the following responsibilities:
- Detailed design and analysis duties on a variety of buildings from the property sector
- Leading projects and a design team
- Liaising with and providing direction to more junior members of the design team
- Communicating with contractors and architects
- Liaising with clients and answering queries
- Attending site meetings
- Gradually taking on more responsibility while you work into a position in senior management

They are involved in a number of exciting local projects including;
- RC Framed multi-storey structures up to 35 floors (hotels, apartments, student accommodation)
- Out of town retail sites around the UK,
- Custodial projects
- Commercial buildings
- Hospital new builds and extensions
Essential criteria for this role:
- A relevant qualification in civil or structural engineering
- Chartered or working toward chartered status with either the ICE or IStructE
- Experience working with building structures
- Experience with industry standard software such as Tekla and Autodesk suites
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of the design process
