Senior Electrical Engineer – London 
Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 per annum  

A rapidly growing, outcomes-focused MEP engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer to take on technically challenging projects and contribute to the ongoing development and success of the business. 

Location: Farringdon, London (Hybrid working model with flexibility based on project needs) 

About the Role: 

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, the successful candidate will take the lead on electrical engineering design for building services across a range of projects. They will be responsible for delivering high-quality technical, design, and contract management support, ensuring that client specifications and project requirements are fully met. The role also offers the opportunity to mentor junior engineers and collaborate directly with clients and external design teams.

Key Responsibilities: 
  • Lead the electrical design and engineering for projects, providing technical solutions from concept through to completion. 
  • Prepare and compile specifications, drawings, and contract documentation in line with relevant codes, standards, regulations, and procedures. 
  • Serve as the lead engineer, liaising directly with clients, contractors, and design teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects. 
  • Deliver electrical building services designs and ensure all work complies with project and client requirements. 
  • Monitor and manage scope and schedule changes, ensuring change control processes are followed and that projects are completed on time and within budget. 
  • Provide technical support and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a collaborative team environment. 
  • Work on a variety of projects, from small-scale to large, across sectors such as residential, commercial, and more. 

The Ideal Candidate Will Have: 
  • A degree in Electrical Building Services Engineering (or equivalent) or substantial relevant experience. 
  • 5+ years of experience in an engineering consultancy, working on multi-residential, commercial, or similar projects. 
  • Exposure to both contractor and client-side environments (desirable). 
  • Strong knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, and lighting design software (e.g., DiaLux). 
  • Experience with cable calculation tools (e.g., Trimble). 
  • Solid technical knowledge of Building Services Engineering and the ability to integrate with other disciplines like acoustics and fire engineering. 
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience managing teams and delivering projects successfully. 
  • Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., CIBSE, IET) and progress towards Chartered Engineer status (or already chartered).
