Monday – Friday 37.5 hours per week
Our client based in Newport, Isle of Wight, is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineering Manager to help drive forward the engineering team in a rapidly expanding company. We are looking for any candidates the meet the below criteria and are keen and experienced managers.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Lead mechanical engineering activities across projects.
- Advocate best practices in mechanical engineering.
- Ensure product development meets stakeholder requirements
- Manage budgets for people and financial resources.
- Drive product innovation and identify new product ideas.
- Support business and sales teams with technical support and training.
- Focus on achieving business KPIs.
- Option to finish at 1pm on Fridays.

- Minimum 5 years in mechanical engineering.
- Management Experience.
- Mechanical and FEA CAD. Experience.
- Working in a regulated, compliance-driven industry (ideally including ATEX/IECEx).
- Influencing and negotiation at multiple organisational levels.
- Clear leadership behaviours and collaboration.
- High integrity and accountability with a results-driven mindset.
- Defining and maintaining departmental KPIs.
- Teaching best-practice mechanical engineering.
- Effective and professional communication with employees and customers.
- Prioritising work under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of materials and steel milling manufacturing processes.
Experience within the load cell industry would be extremely advantageous but is not completely essential.
