Lead Electrical Engineer required to support design solutions at a leading manufacturer of sophisticated vacuum products, exhaust management systems and related value-added services. Integral to the manufacturing processes for semiconductors, flat panel displays, LEDs and solar cells. This company is based in Clevedon, BS21 - Ideally situated by M5 junction 21, an easy commute for anyone living in Bridgwater, Cheddar, Bristol or Newport.
- £50,000 - £59,000 per annum
- 37.5hrs per week
- Monday to Friday
- 25 days holiday per year + bank holiday

About the job
- Lead a high-performing team to deliver product requirements
- Support the NPI manager to ensure the team have the correct knowledge and identify training needs
- Work together with the project leader in development of project plans to meet project deliverables
- Ensure Control and Coordination of the engineering design to meet specifications, ensuring cost-effective solutions that meet the prime cost & product requirements.
- Promote the use of new technologies and work with R&D teams
- Lead the system design intent, approve designs, calculations, and test specification.
- Engineering risk identification, control and mitigation, escalate and to agree appropriate higher-level mitigation
- Make engineering decision selecting the best solution to engineering problems
- Develop relationships with internal and external customers / suppliers
The right candidate
- A good Engineering/Scientific degree
- Significant experience in the process of product development in a high technology environment, including leading engineering activities
- Detailed knowledge of engineering principles and standards relative to the role
- Experience of project coordination and management of teams - including leadership skills, high levels of energy with team engagement.
- Knowledge of process improvement
- Technical/commercial awareness to balance potentially conflicting commercial and technical drivers.
