We are currently recruiting for a yard staff member to join a well-established company in Abingdon.
The Yard Operative role will entail the following:
- Cleaning equipment using a mechanised wash plant
- Carrying out repairs to damaged equipment
- Keeping the yard area tidy
- Having the flexibility to work as drivers mate and visit sites with drivers to install or recover equipment from locations across the UK
The successful Yard Operative will:
- Be reliable and trustworthy
- Be able to work as part of a team or on your own when required
- Be able to work under own initiative
- Have the ability to work away from home if the requirement arises
- Be able to adhere to strict health and safety working practices
- Have a driving licence with category B entitlement (3.5t)
More information:
- Yard Operatives have the possibility to be trained on a vehicle mounted crane with a grab attachment so therefore must be willing to adapt and learn new skills.
- Working days are Monday to Friday.
- Hours of work are 06:00am-16:00pm with a 45-minute break.
- The applicant needs to be flexible in their approach to working hours as overtime may be available, which is paid at an enhanced hourly rate.
- Due to the location of the site, having your own transport is preferred as there is no public transport in the local area.
- Temporary ongoing position with the view to progress to a permanent contract with the company.
