Transport First Line Manager

Main duties of this Transport First Line Manager role:
" Support and promote a strong safety culture in the transport operation
" Understand roles and responsibilities for yourself and your team
" Be clear on objectives and KPIs
" Review and adjust daily plans as needed
" Schedule and conduct 1-2-1s with direct reports
" Manage and resolve daily transport issues
" Brief and debrief subcontractors starting and finishing on site
" Deputise for the transport manager on daily calls when needed
" Handle accident and breakdown management
" Ensure and check pre-shift yard checks and defect process
" Be the main point of contact for all drivers during your shifts
" Communicate productivity and direct hours targets to the team
" Assign and manage work via TMS, ensuring system compliance

Skills required for this Transport First Line Manager role:
" Experience in logistics is advantageous
" Proven experience in a transport office
" Knowledge of transport legal compliance
" Strong supervisory skills
" Target driven mindset
" Proficient in computer use
" Excellent team player
" Effective communication skills
" Strong problem solving skills
" Ability to work independently and make decisions
" Details orientated and highly organised

Location: Stoke-on-Trent
Shift: Monday to Friday rotating 06:00-14:00/14:00/22:00
