Are you ready to make an immediate impact in a dynamic educational environment? Do you have a passion for HR and a commitment to excellence? My client is seeking a dedicated HR Advisor to join their team and provide outstanding HR services across both campuses in Cambridge and Huntingdon.
As part of a dedicated team, you will be responsible for leading, advising, and supporting on all HR issues within designated areas of the College. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that the Department’s organisational objectives are met with a high level of professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop strong relationships with managers to support the effective implementation of HR policies and procedures, fostering a culture of supportive and challenging leadership.
  • Coordinate recruitment, selection, induction, and probation processes, supporting managers to ensure these are followed and strategies are implemented, especially for “hard to fill” vacancies.
  • Advise and support managers with absence management cases, leading on processes, Occupational Health referrals, and documentation.
  • Advise and support managers with investigations, disciplinary, and grievance processes, ensuring fair and legal practices are followed.
  • Coordinate and undertake processes for onboarding new staff and offboarding, including exit interviews.
  • Assist with reviewing HR policies/procedures and contribute ideas for improvements.
  • Support the delivery of in-house training and development for managers in HR practice.
  • Adhere to health and safety policies and be prepared to undertake First Aid Training.
Essential Skills Required:
  • Full/part CIPD qualification, Degree HNC/HND or equivalent, IT skills, Level 2 English & Maths.
  • Significant experience in providing professional HR advice, developing HR policies, and contributing to successful projects.
  • Knowledge of employment law, data protection, recruitment, disciplinary processes, and the ability to manage a diverse workload.
  • Flexible, self-motivated, positive attitude, confidentiality, and commitment to safeguarding.
