Responsibilities
  • Analyse existing manufacturing processes, identify inefficiencies, and implement improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure products meet industry standards and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with design and engineering teams to facilitate the smooth transition of new products from design to manufacturing.
  • Plan and schedule production activities, including resource allocation, to meet production targets and deadlines.
  • Address technical challenges in manufacturing processes, troubleshoot issues, and provide technical support to production teams.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of defects or issues in manufacturing processes and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain detailed work instructions, SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), and manufacturing guidelines for production staff.
  • Manage and update manufacturing documentation, ensuring accuracy and accessibility for the production teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless coordination between departments.
  • Communicate manufacturing requirements, updates, and challenges to internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment with overall business goals.
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles to eliminate waste, optimize processes, and improve efficiency.
  • Lead or participate in events to drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes and workflows.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate manufacturing equipment and technologies to improve production capabilities and efficiency.
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance activities to ensure the operational readiness of manufacturing machinery.
Qualifications and Skills Required
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.
  • Additional certifications or training in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma can be beneficial.
  • Proficiency in manufacturing processes, materials, and technologies relevant to the industry.
  • Knowledge of CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software and familiarity with manufacturing software systems (such as ERP systems) is valuable.
  • Several years of experience in manufacturing engineering roles, preferably in a technology and product company.
  • Experience in process optimization, production planning, and new product introduction is essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and address manufacturing challenges, defects, and inefficiencies.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey technical information clearly and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools to plan and coordinate manufacturing projects effectively.
  • Knowledge of quality management principles and experience in implementing quality control measures to ensure high-quality products.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, providing technical expertise and support to colleagues.
  • Strong attention to detail in manufacturing processes and documentation to ensure accuracy and precision.
  • Ability to adapt to changing manufacturing technologies, industry trends, and business requirements.
