Systems Developer

Are you a Systems Developer looking for a new opportunity? One of our clients based in Ayrshire are looking to grow their IT team. As a Systems Developer you will be responsible for supporting the design and development of new information systems. Our client are offering hybrid working and have a car pack on site. Starting salary £35,000. 

Duties:

- Liaise with colleagues across the companies in order to identify information and systems requirements to support the development of software/system architectures and designs.
- Design, develop, maintain and document computer software and systems across a range of platforms e.g. desktop/mobile/web applications, utilities and scripts, business systems and reporting tools in line with best practice standards and working practices to meet the company’s business aims and objectives.
- Design, develop, maintain and document databases and middleware in accordance with industry best practice to enable interoperability between in-house and third party systems.
- Undertake routine accessibility and usability testing to ensure that applications and systems delivered by the Systems Development Team meet with company and user requirements and comply with UK and EU legislation.
- Support the implementation of best practice such as version control, continuous integration and responsive design in order to enable the sustainable development of organisation systems.
- Monitor the performance of company’s data systems including systems backup in accordance with agreed protocols to ensure that maximum capacity and capability is delivered at all times.
- Carryout systems analysis and diagnostic testing in order to identify and address operating errors and faults to minimise disruption to the services delivered by the Business Intelligence and Information Systems team.
 - Provide user support and also deliver end-user training on in house applications and systems to enable wider knowledge development across the organisation.
 - Work closely with ICT colleagues, staff and students as required to provide resolutions to incidents, faults and enquiries regarding systems.
 - Implement documented procedures/processes regarding the development use and maintenance of systems.
 - Develop and maintain documentation as part of a software lifecycle process to underpin the future review of systems.
 - Support the administration and maintenance of Microsoft and/or Unit-e database systems to enable systems development and performance improvement.
 - Work with the Senior System Developer to deliver and monitor service level agreements associated with the work of the Systems Development Team.
 - Participate in continuing professional development and business process improvement activities in order to support the delivery of innovative systems solutions to meet the business objectives of the organisation.
 - Any other duties as required by management.

Skills:

• Programming languages including HTML, C#, PHP, ASP, etc
• Creating, maintaining and querying SQL databases.
• Ability to work confidently with a wide range of managers, staff and external customers and build successful working relationships within short timescales.
• Ability to deliver successful outcomes within timescales set.
• A working knowledge of business intelligence tools eg Qlikview, Qliksense and Tableau.
• Ability to create, develop maintain and query SQL databases.
