Job Description

Our client, a global leader in their field, is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Category Manager to join their team and play a pivotal role in driving value and service delivery improvements throughout the supply chain. This is a fantastic opportunity for a strategic thinker with a passion for procurement and supply chain management to make a significant impact on business operations. Salary for this role is up to £46k depending on experience plus excellent benefits that include a non-contribution pension, hybrid working and free parking.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify, execute, and implement end-to-end strategic sourcing strategies to provide strategic purchasing support, aligned with the company's procurement and supply chain management goals.
• Segment suppliers based on commercial and risk factors, recommending an appropriate supplier management approach based on the segmentation.
• Continuously manage and nurture relationships with key suppliers, ensuring performance meets or exceeds expectations.
• Act as the centre of excellence on contractual matters, offering advice and support on purchasing issues. Conduct regular quarterly reviews with senior internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and performance.
• Proactively identify category opportunities that could bring significant benefit to the company, driving improvement initiatives within the supply chain.
• Provide support for tender evaluations, ensuring that bids are assessed based on commercial terms and supplier capabilities.
• Lead and support supplier negotiations, particularly focusing on the commercial elements of tender processes, to secure the best possible deals.
• Develop a comprehensive reporting framework for each project, tracking and demonstrating progress against the savings targets, including all necessary documentation and savings sign-off.
• Develop and implement a tailored stakeholder management and engagement plan, ensuring that all key stakeholders are appropriately engaged and aligned with procurement activities.

Candidate Requirements:

• Educated to degree level or equivalent.
• CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) qualification.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to manage complex supplier relationships.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant tools.
