Job Description

Are you ready to use your analytical skills to make a real impact? We’re looking for a motivated Finance Analyst to join our client who is based in Edinburgh City Centre.  Salary for this role is £45k and the client offers hybrid working (50% in the office).  Ideally you will be a qualified accountant, but the client is open to someone currently studying or qualified by experience.

As a Finance Analyst, you’ll play a key role in providing high-quality financial analysis, reporting, and insight. From preparing month-end reports and building financial models to supporting compliance requirements, you’ll be central to helping the business make informed, strategic decisions.

You’ll work closely with colleagues across Finance and beyond, gaining exposure to a wide range of activities including budgeting, forecasting, pricing, payroll, VAT, and tax compliance. This role is perfect for someone who wants variety, responsibility, and the chance to really develop their expertise.

Duties will include:
  • Preparing month-end management reports, quarterly updates, and ad hoc analysis for partners, fee earners, and the finance team.
  • Creating and maintaining financial schedules, models, and reports that bring clarity to business performance.
  • Analysing financial performance across divisions, partner groups, locations, clients, and sectors.
  • Assisting with monthly payroll and supporting statutory and tax reporting (corporate tax, partnership tax, VAT).
  • Ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial data, including rates, utilisation, realisation, budgets, and headcount.
  • Taking ownership of projects throughout the year and delivering impactful, insightful results.
What We’re Looking For
  • Previous experience in a finance role – you’ll already have a solid grounding in financial processes.
  • A keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills – able to explain financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues.
  • Team player with great interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong working relationships.
  • Professional and discreet – comfortable working with confidential information.
  • Ambitious and career-minded – eager to learn, grow, and take on new challenges.
What’s in it for You
  • Full training and support, including the opportunity to pursue finance qualifications.
  • A varied role where no two days are the same.
  • The chance to contribute to meaningful business decisions.
  • A supportive team environment where your development matters.
