Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Alcester, B49 6EH
Shift Pattern: Monday to Thursday, 07:30 - 16:30, Friday 07:30 - 12:30
A leading manufacturing organisation is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer with a focus on special processes to join their growing team. This role is ideal for candidates with proven experience in multi-axis laser programming, looking to contribute to a dynamic and forward-thinking environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Support manufacturing operations by aligning with objectives on EHS, Quality, Cost, and Delivery
- Participate in daily operational meetings and problem-solving exercises to improve workflow
- Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation including set-up packs, stage drawings, SOPs, and work instructions
- Take ownership of manufacturing engineering support across departments including NPDI, Production, Purchasing, and Quality
- Ensure the availability and design of tooling to support safe, efficient manufacturing processes
- Lead process improvement initiatives, problem-solving activities, and PFMEA exercises
- Support internal and external audit processes, implementing solutions where required
Key Skills & Experience:- Minimum two years' experience as a Laser Engineer/Programmer
- Expertise in multi-axis laser programming (EDM & Wire Programming desirable)
- Background in Automotive, Aerospace & Defence, Power Generation, Medical, Nuclear, or Food & Drink sectors
- Strong engineering competence with experience in sheet metal and fabrications
- Proficiency in SolidWorks (or alternative CAD software such as CATIA or NX)
- Problem-solving mindset with a structured approach to root cause analysis and resolution
- Ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives and manage change effectively
