Launch Engineer

Part of a major international automotive group, this organisation has recently won several significant new automotive contracts is seeking a Launch Engineer to lead the NPI / production readiness and launch process.
Launch Engineer – Automotive manufacturing
Salary £50-55000
FTC – 2 year duration
Location: West Midlands
Duties:
o Project manage delivery of new product through manufacturing & tooling feasibility to successful production introduction and product launch
o Lead PFMEA & quality control plan completion and approval
o Coordinate packing specifications & trials to sign-off
o Coordinate creation and sign-off of SOP and maintenance needs
o Lead process sign-off & run @ rate trials
o Coordinate component supplies & suppliers prior to MBOM release
o Project management – lead launch meetings and weekly reporting
o Advanced Quality Planning, including customer signoff and Process signoff on the program
Experience:
We are seeking an experienced engineer with either Project, Manufacturing or Launch experience gained in an automotive manufacturing environment.
o Proven New product introduction (NPI) or production launch experience
o Engineering, Technical or Science BTEC/ Degree/ MSc qualified or equivalent, with demonstratable automotive manufacturing experience.
o Project/ Programme management
o Quality tools – APQP/ PPAP/ control plans
o Strong planning and coordination skills
o Good communication and influencing abiltiy
o Engineering, Technical or Science BTEC/ Degree/ MSc qualified or equivalent, with demonstratable automotive manufacturing experience.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced NPI Project Engineer or Launch Engineer to join a global automotive supplier who are both winning and quoting for significant new business.
This position is been offered as a fixed term contract of employment, initially for a 2 year duration.
