Overview
 
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Buyer to join a forward thinking organisation. This role is pivotal in monitoring and managing supplier performance in line with both Direct and Indirect category strategies. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in purchasing,  implementing and maintaining procurement excellence while contributing to the organisation’s overall objectives.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Purchasing across direct and indirect categories. 
• Monitor and report supplier performance against defined category strategies.
• Provide training to the supplier base on key processes and policies.
• Support the delivery of procurement strategies. 
• Negotiate with suppliers to optimise value delivery.
• Support sourcing initiatives. 
• Collaborate with strategic suppliers. 
• Act as a high-performing team member aligned with category strategies and business objectives.

 
Key Qualifications and Experience
 

• Experience in the automotive / manufacturing sector with experience in purchasing.
• Knowledge / experience in tooling and assembly procurement preferred.
• Familiarity with working with suppliers overseas and managing associated challenges.
• Strong understanding of QAFs (Quality Assurance Frameworks) and data analysis.
• CIPS qualification or working towards it.
• Engineering qualifications are an advantage.
