Quality Manager – Park Royal | £35,000 + £5,000 Bonus | Food Manufacturing
A long-established and respected food manufacturer based in Park Royal is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to take ownership of their food safety and quality assurance function. With over 25 years of heritage, this business specialises in producing a wide range of Mexican-inspired products including corn tortillas, sauces, pastes, and fried corn chips, supplying to wholesale, retail, and online customers.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on and driven QA professional to play a key role in maintaining and enhancing quality systems in a fast-paced, multi-product environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the technical lead for food safety and quality across the site, supporting staff, suppliers, and customers.
- Maintain and develop the Food Safety Management System (FSMS) to ensure compliance with SALSA V6 standards.
- Lead internal audits and support continuous improvement of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Deliver staff training on food safety, allergens, and working methodologies.
- Oversee and update product specifications, labels, and artwork in line with current regulations.
- Support New Product Development (NPD) and conduct sensory evaluations.
- Investigate non-conformances and customer complaints with thorough root cause analysis and follow-up actions.
- Approve new suppliers, packaging, and raw materials.
- Conduct traceability exercises and coordinate environmental and product testing.
- Maintain organised, accurate documentation in line with legislative, customer, and certification requirements.
Candidate Profile
- 3–5 years’ experience in a Quality/Technical role within the food manufacturing sector.
- In-depth knowledge of SALSA and HACCP-based food safety standards.
- Strong auditing skills with a hands-on approach to factory floor and office-based responsibilities.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team collaboration abilities.
- Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects within a varied product range.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and confident analysing technical data.
Qualifications Required
- Degree or equivalent in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related discipline.
- Level 3 HACCP certification.
- Level 3 Food Safety in Manufacturing or Catering.
- Internal Auditor qualification.
