Job Description

Are you passionate about supporting young people to thrive - not just academically, but personally and emotionally too?

Do you want to make a real difference in a place where every day brings new challenges, new stories, and real impact?

If so, this could be the role for you.

About the Role
As a Student Advice and Safeguarding Officer, you’ll be a key part of the Student Support Services team, ensuring every learner feels safe, supported, and ready to succeed. You’ll be the first point of contact for students who need guidance - whether that’s on wellbeing, mental health, or safeguarding issues.
You’ll manage your own caseload, provide advice and guidance, build support plans, and work closely with staff, parents, and external agencies to make sure every student gets the help they need.

It’s a role that requires empathy, professionalism, resilience and rewards you with the knowledge that your work changes lives every single day.

What You’ll Do
• Provide a confidential and responsive advice service for students on personal, social, and wellbeing concerns.
• Identify and respond to safeguarding disclosures and wellbeing concerns in line with statutory guidance.
• Build meaningful relationships with young people and partner agencies.
• Attend and contribute to multi-agency meetings and case conferences.
• Deliver engaging personal development and awareness sessions.
• Help remove barriers to learning - ensuring every student has the opportunity to succeed.

What You Need
• Experience supporting young people in education, youth work, social care, or related settings.
• A sound understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
• Strong communication and organisational skills - and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
• A genuine passion for helping young people navigate challenges and make positive changes.
• A qualification in youth work, social work, advice and guidance, or a related field (Level 4 or above) would be an advantage.
• This role requires an Enhanced DBS clearance.

Why Join
• Be part of a warm, collaborative, and professional team dedicated to student wellbeing.
• Enjoy ongoing training and professional development, including safeguarding and mental health.
• Work across two vibrant campuses with opportunities to get involved in enrichment and awareness events.
• Make a tangible difference in the lives of young people - every single day.
