Melt Operative

We are recruiting Melt Operators to work Double Days and Weekends on behalf of Cosma Casting, part of Magna International, a premier global automotive supplier. Based in the Stafford Park are of Telford, working hours will be Monday to Friday Double Days (6-2/2-10) Rotating or Saturday and Sunday 6am - 6pm. Candidate that are successful for the weekend shifts will be required to train on Double Days for a minimum of 6 weeks.

The role entails:

A pre-start check is made before commencing Charging
• Ensure the furnace is correctly charged as per SWI
• Maintain all melt areas by ensuring that they are cleaned and drossed off as per SWI’S
• Provide a coin sample for Cast Chemistry Analysis by the met lab as per SWI and ensure
that any alloy corrections required are made and Logged on Weekly Melt Sheet
• Ensure K Mould samples are taken
• Ensure all areas are cleaned and maintained, any issues or stoppages are reported to
Team Leader, Supervisor or Maintenance. All issues stoppages and concerns should be
logged accordingly as per company policies and procedures
• Provide break cover as and when required for Department
• Ensure that at the end of each shift that the melt area is left in a tidy and safe condition
ready for the following shift and all issues/concerns from the preceding shift are
communicated/escalated to the next shift
• Promote the companies HSE policies across the department and plant and adhere to all Health and Safety environmental requirements

Do you have:

Understanding of SWI's
Understanding of the HDPC Process
Experience in a Procuction environment
