local government client for an
Administrative & Civic Support Officer. This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly organised and detail-oriented administrator to play a key role in supporting both the
day-to-day operations of the council and its civic and ceremonial functions.
Location: TavistockHours: Monday – Thursday 9am – 5pm, Friday 9am – 4:30pm (37 hours per week)
Salary: £12.45 per hour
Office-based roleWhat You’ll Be Doing:- Office Administration: Providing essential administrative and corporate support, including mail merges, audio typing, and financial record-keeping.
- Democratic Support: Assisting with council meetings, preparing and issuing agendas, and taking minutes (some evening work required).
- Civic & Mayoral Support: Organising and coordinating civic events, managing the Mayor’s diary, and supporting ceremonial functions.
- Customer & Public Engagement: Acting as a first point of contact, handling reception duties, and assisting with the Council’s online presence.
- Project & Event Coordination: Supporting council projects and working across multiple departments.
What We’re Looking For:
Strong administrative and office skills, including experience with mail merges and audio typing.
A confident communicator who can liaise professionally with stakeholders and the public.
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
A proactive team player who enjoys variety in their role.
IT proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office and social media platforms.
