Job Description

In Team Digital, we’re planning for a future where the technology solutions we co-create and design enable us to achieve our goal to protect our greatest natural resource and allowing our customers, communities and the environment to thrive.
As a team, our vision is to create an everyday digital experience for the people we serve - our customers - by putting them at the heart of everything we do. As part of our award-winning team, you’ll help the business become an intelligent, connected organisation to deliver our digital transformation and turnaround.

As part of our exciting plans, the Thames Digital operations team is growing to strengthen and increase our in-house capability and capacity.

This is a challenging role that requires your knowledge and expertise to help create and drive the delivery of a 1st class software asset management service for Thames Water.

You will be part of a new team, which has just implemented a new Software Asset Management Tool, as part of creating our own in-house multi-million-pound ITIL service management framework reporting to the software asset manager. You will be involved in continuously improving our service for our current and future long-term vision.

The Licence Management Lead will work with and support the Software Licence Manager to ensure that all of Thames Water’s software license management services are provided effectively and efficiently. The Licence Management Lead will also support the team with onboarding/maintenance of the recently implemented SAM tool, as well as creating and updating software asset management policies and processes.
You will work with project teams to guide the software licence requirements of projects as they become BAU to ensure that they are in place before transition and that ongoing costs have been included in planning Service Management. You will support other service management processes and activities including Hardware Asset Management, change management, release management, service asset and configuration management, incident management, problem management and capacity management.

What you’ll be doing as a Licence Management Lead:
Licence Management Reporting – support the provision of regular, transparent and accurate reporting on all Licence activities. Work in collaboration with the software asset manager, operational risk and compliance manager to identify risks and issues that arise from software licence management.

Continuous Service Improvement – make recommendations and highlight service continuity management CSI activities to improve overall licence management.
Stakeholder Management – develop key relationships within the business areas and in the Thames Digital department to support the delivery of software licence management activities to ensure that stakeholders are fully engaged.
  • You will ensure all inventory data is collected and correct.
  • You will take ownership and action of importing data, normalising, and analysis of data.
  • You will assist and recommend Continuous Service improvements to improve the service.
  • You will capture, validate, prepare and enter Entitlement data.
  • You will highlight opportunities for re-harvesting of software licences and rationalisation of software.
  • You will provide accurate ELP reports highlighting breaches in compliance and making recommendations for mitigation of risk and optimisation.
  • You will develop key relationships within the business areas and in the IT department to support the delivery of software licence management activities to ensure that stakeholders are fully engaged in maintaining license optimisation, data integrity and license compliance.
Base Location: Clearwater Court, Reading – Hybrid 2 days a week onsite
Working Pattern or hours – Full Time (36 hours per week)
