Job Description

Do you want to be at the forefront of and play a vital part in Thames Water’s Wastewater Operations team in London?

In this role you will be working as part of a team of Process Controllers you will be responsible for the effective running of Mogden Sewage Treatment Works in South West London. This is Thames Water’s third largest treatment work covering an area of 55 hectares and serving over 2.1 million of our customers. 

What you’ll be doing as a Process Controller 
  • Being responsible for the overall operation of the Sewage Treatment Works, the plant and equipment.
  • You will be using SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems to control, monitor, and analyse the site’s industrial equipment, devices and processes – both hardware and software.
  • Carry out High voltage and related low voltage switching operations.
  • Processing faults and advise suitable rectification by first fix, raising issues to the Maintenance Scheduler or Team Leader as required.
  • Carrying out isolations to plant and issuing Permits to work as part of a safe system of work.
  • Assisting with on-site capital project works, coordinating maintenance and operational personnel raising reactive work when required.
  • Operate and monitor the processes from the Control room using SCADA, and where necessary, go into the process area to carry out operations and when required, inspect the process area.
  • You will be responding to specific situations to ensure the relevant processes are brought under control or escalated to an event.
  • Out of hours you will be the responsible person on-site and will direct the Process Technicians to ensure that services are delivered by standards.

Base Location: Mogden TW7 7LV. 

Working Pattern is 38 hours a week across a 12-hour rotating shift.

What you should bring to the role 
  • We are seeking an individual with wastewater process experience and the ability to coordinate & prioritise work.
  • Be an Appointed Person for HV (electrical work) or have the ability to complete the AP(HV) course.
  • A qualification in a technical discipline Mechanical, Electrical or Instrument Control and automation would be advantageous.
