Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Technical Coordinator to join our water production team at our Guildford site.

This is a diverse and fast paced role where no two days will be the same. It provides a fantastic opportunity to think differently about how we ensure reliability and resilience of our assets. You will influence the future, by identifying risk and investment needs and work with internal teams and external contractors to deliver solutions within the right timescales.

As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for the management of the pre-requisites (materials, resources and permits), monitoring and close down of planned and reactive work across maintenance and operations as well as ensuring all compliance with statutory requirements. 

What you’ll be doing as a Technical Coordinator
  • You will play a key role as part of a team ensuring that the water production site continues to supply our customers.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring the materials required to maintain the plant is available for the maintenance team to complete tasks, by specifying and ordering materials.
  • Day to day contractor liaison and management as well as working closely with the Operations and Planning & Scheduling Teams to provide technical support and input into future planning and solutions.
  • Reviewing maintenance activities for continuous improvement and compliance with asset standards.
  • This role will require a large focus on engagement and communication with key stakeholders to ensure all activities are planned effectively and efficiently.
  • Be the lead person with specific activities within a designated area, including directing on briefed projects and providing support on larger scale projects.
  • Base location is Guildford GU4 8BW
  • Working Pattern: 36 hours per week, Monday – Friday. (from 7:30 to 15:30), plus inclusion on a standby rota after training. 
What you should bring to the role
  • Full clean UK driving licence.
  • Have previous experience of co-ordinating and negotiating with contractors and suppliers.
  • Have enough knowledge of water or manufacturing production assets and the spare parts, consumables, tools etc
  • Demonstrate good business/stakeholder awareness, together with an innovative and creative approach to problem-solving.
  • Have excellent communication skills, to clearly interact with your operational colleagues and key stakeholders.
  • Ideally have experience and knowledge of a number of Health and Safety activities including  TWOSAs, hot works permits, crane authorisation and statutory inspections
  • Excellent IT literacy skills as all work is managed through an SAP system and user training for this and other standard software systems will be provided.
