We have a great opportunity for a Field Operations Specialist to join our waste division at Crossness STW to carry out field investigations into complex operational problems, make the correct financial decisions within the wastewater network, and identify proactive solutions to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.

What you’ll be doing as the Field Operations Specialist- Responsibility for working in compliance with company procedures including health and safety and street works legislation.
- Coordination of complex planned and reactive technical activities to ensure maximum effectiveness and minimal customer impact.
- Be responsible for making technical decisions on work being carried out with a principal focus on network and customer impact balanced with appropriate cost control.
- Provide technical support to the Area network Manager and act as the key focal point between control and the field for coordination of operational resources for unplanned work and operational events.
- Provide information to integrated planning on required network maintenance, technical support and improvement to network strategy function to ensure a robust, stable and efficient network.
- Work with field teams and the customer management function to determine the cause of complex/difficult flow and pressure problems.
- Raise accurate and detailed job work orders directly onto work management systems.
- Provide information on required maintenance and improvement to the Performance, Risk and Optimisation Team, and assist with contingency planning.
- Take personal ownership of customer issues, responding to queries and complaints and resolving issues.
- Contribute to the business unit achieving its financial targets.
Base Location - Hybrid Crossness STW Due to the nature of this role you can be based at a number of our sites in the south London area depending on your location.
Hours per week 38 Monday-Friday.
What you should bring to the role - A sound working knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act.
- Do you have a technical aptitude with good interpersonal skills, a proactive attitude, and a willingness to go the extra mile and get ‘hands-on’ when required?
- Are you seeking a job where you can take responsibility for a designated area to optimise efficiency?
- Great communication skills are needed to maintain and improve our high-quality customer experience.
- Possess good IT skills.
- Knowledge of wastewater network systems is desirable.
- You will also demonstrate good business/stakeholder awareness, and cost management experience together with an innovative and creative approach to problem-solving and strong team working and influencing skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence with willingness to travel across the south London region assisting other areas as required.
