Interim Financial Consultant/Project Manager – Pension Scheme Closures (Big 4 Experience) - Immediate Start

Sheridan Maine is seeking an experienced Interim Financial Consultant/Project Manager from a Big 4 background to lead the closure of multiple defined benefit pension schemes for a Global organisation.

This short-term role is ideal for a Senior Actuary or finance professional with extensive experience in large pension schemes, large-scale project management, and the execution of complex financial transitions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the closure of several defined benefit pension schemes, ensuring the seamless transition of employees to new schemes.
• Take ownership of a large-scale pension scheme with circa 20,000 members, overseeing actuarial valuations, financial accounting, and bulk transfers.
• Lead large scale assets transfers, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and risk management.
• Work closely with CFOs, trustees, and senior stakeholders, managing complex negotiations and tricky member issues to ensure successful project delivery.
• Drive projects under significant time pressure, ensuring alignment with company objectives and regulatory frameworks.

What We’re Looking For:

• Big 4-trained, Interim Financial Consultant, Senior Actuary or finance professional with significant experience in pension scheme closures and large-scale financial transitions.
• Strong expertise in actuarial liabilities, financial accounting, and risk management related to pensions.
• Proven ability to manage high-value projects under tight deadlines and complex stakeholder environments.
• Not a pension administrator – a specialist team is already in place for this role.
