General Ledger Accountant - Mostly remote

Sheridan Maine is proud to be partnering with a global company renowned for its supportive, talented, and collaborative team culture, to recruit a General Ledger Accountant. This is a 4-month fixed-term contract with the flexibility of mostly remote working. Candidates must, however, reside within a 1-hour commute of its Birmingham office to accommodate occasional onsite requirements.
 
This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a varied environment where your attention to detail and ability to handle multiple responsibilities will be key.
 
Your responsibilities as the General Ledger Accountant will include:

• Respond to data requests and queries from internal and external auditors.
• Complete tasks related to month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close processes.
• Prepare and enter ad-hoc month-end journals with accurate supporting documentation.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
• Address basic VAT-related queries.
• Support the manager with lease accounting requirements.
• Assist in project-related activities.

 
To be considered for the role of General Ledger Accountant, you will:

• Be a Qualified or Part-Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) with experience.
• Have ability to build and maintain positive working relationships and communicate effectively with both financial and non-financial colleagues across all levels of the organisation.
• Be proactive in your approach to managing a diverse workload.
