What you’ll be doing as a Enviromental Engineer- Play a key role in engineering for Thames Water.
- Provide technical input into project definition briefs.
- Provide environmental input into asset surveys and plant condition assessments, feasibility studies, optioneering, whole-life costing and preliminary designs.
- Provide the technical sign-off and assurance during technical delivery, including handover.
- Ensure we are compliant with engineering-based regulatory requirements in their area.
- Promoting continuous improvement of environmental / carbon performance of all projects.
- Communicating the requirements of current relevant environmental legislation, standards and best practice.
- Embedding a continuous improvement approach to support upgrading our environmental Standards.
- Assisting the Environmental Engineering team in various internal and external meetings, workshops, management reviews, and forums.
- Raising awareness and understanding of carbon and sustainability targets throughout the business.
Based in Hybrid, Clearwater Court, you will be required on-site as part of your role requires you to.
36 hours a week, Monday to Friday.
What you should bring to the role- Be educated to a degree level in engineering or other appropriate technical qualifications, also likely in an engineering discipline.
- Knowledge in one of the following subjects: embodied and whole life carbon approach, natural-based solutions, Natural capital, Biodiversity, SuDS and catchment solutions, EIA / PEA
- Background in project delivery or construction and asset operation.
- Understanding of the regulatory environment to achieve compliance.
- Ability to collaborate with and influence colleagues.
- A passion for continuous improvement, environmental challenges and sustainable development.
