Grounds Team Leader

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Grounds Team Leader to manage a team across two sites, Efford and Weston Mill. The successful applicant will be responsible for task managing staff daily, providing strong direction and ensuring high standards of health and safety are maintained.

Location: Plympton, Plymouth (Efford and Weston Mill), Onsite
Pay Rate: £16.26 per hour
Job Type: Temporary position until December, possible extension
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM & Friday: 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Start Date: ASAP

Key Responsibilities of a Burials and Grounds Team Leader:
- Manage staff: performance, training, recruitment, and resource allocation.
- Motivate the team for excellent customer service.
- Ensure a safe working environment: implement and monitor Health and Safety guidelines, and conduct Risk Assessments.
- Stay updated on policies, rules, and regulations.
- Handle customer feedback and complaints.
- Supervise memorial product provision.
- Lead ad-hoc projects for service development.
- Coordinate equipment maintenance and replacement.
- Ensure compliance is met.
- Perform driving duties.
- Act as a contact for the public, Funeral Directors, clergy, and contractors.

Requirements:
- Previous experience in team leadership/management.
- Good knowledge of health and safety practices.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to work with the public in situations of a sensitive nature.
- Valid driving licence.
- Excavation experience beneficial
